Dallas Stars Blow Big Lead, Fall in Overtime to Avalanche

Colorado Rallies From Three-Goal Deficit to Win 6-5

Stars Fall to 1-2-0 on the Season

The Dallas Stars blew a three-goal lead in the third period and fell to the Colorado Avalanche 6-5 in overtime on Thursday night at American Airlines Center.

The Stars jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period on goals by Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn and Roope Hintz. Colorado cut the lead to 3-2 in the second period on goals by Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon.

Dallas extended its lead to 5-2 in the third period on goals by Alexander Radulov and Esa Lindell. But Colorado rallied with three goals in the final 8:39 of regulation to tie the game and force overtime.

Cale Makar scored the game-winning goal for Colorado just 1:27 into overtime.

The Stars are now 1-2-0 on the season. They will return to action on Saturday night when they host the Arizona Coyotes.
